Our predecessors never ceased to ask what Japan should be within the world.

Standing before the great powers of the West, they learned, discerned, and from that tension, forged a spirit of their own.

That spirit lives on within us.

Yet our role is not to preserve what we’ve inherited, but to refine it through the sensibilities of our time.

As my first step in that pursuit, I gave form to the Japanese aesthetics within us through the lens of today, shaping it into a sweatshirt that quietly breathes in the everyday.
